North Central Carson City
No matter what season it is, north central Carson City, including the Northridge neighborhood, provides a place for fresh air to play and engage in physical activity.
There are six recreational parks in the area to enjoy open space and scenic routes. The following parks allow dogs on the property:
- Blackwell’s Pond Park
- Fulstone Family Park
- Steinheimer Park
The following parks in the area perfect for kids:
- Mills Park: tot playground and skate park
- Sunland Park: playground equipment with picnic tables
If you’re seeking adventure, there’s always fascinating stories behind headstones. Lone Mountain Cemetery possesses a peaceful, desert view for a walk along with touring graves that date back to as early as 1865.
But there’s more than just the outdoors; right next to Mills Park is Carson Aquatic Facility, open year-round.
There also are opportunities to join a hockey league; the Sierra Inline Hockey stadium is located at Mills Park.
The Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada also is looking for volunteers in the area, as their main office is located in Northridge. Imagine being able to contribute the community just by stepping out from your front door!
